The Rams Head Inn at Denshaw and has been owned by the Haigh family for over 30 years. Being over 450 years old it sits at 1212ft above sea level and enjoys panoramic views of the Saddleworth moors towards Rochdale, Oldham & Manchester.
Inside much is as it has always been; memorabilia fills the room, oak settles, informal dining tables and chairs, wonderful roaring real fires and stoves. However, moving with the times, from just serving beer and ale, The Rams Head decided to serve fine food and is one of the original “gastro pubs” Using Red Tractor assured meats, the freshest seafood and game in season. Our food is often with a modern twist, but with a few traditional favourites always available. There is a great range of wines, with many wines served by the glass. Hand pulled fresh Ale always available. Drinkers are as much welcome as diners so no need to eat just call for a drink.
Within 5 minutes of the M62, Jcn 22 it is easily reached within 30 minutes from both Manchester and Leeds and with the Pennine Bridleway running past the Inn, Saddleworth moor and Ogden Reservoir is a major attraction for walkers, bikers & riders. All the Saddleworth villages are within 10 minutes’ drive. All in all, a great place to visit, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
